52 infants die in 30 days at Jamshedpur's MGM hospital

Weeks after the Gorakhpur tragedy where over 60 children died at the BRD Medical College hospital, 52 infants have been reported to have died in the last 30 days at Jamshedpur's Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGM) hospital in Jharkhand.

The hospital superintendent has blamed malnutrition for the deaths.

The hospital was established on November 14, 1961. It was undertaken by the Government of Bihar in the year 1979. Since 2010, the college has been affiliated by Chaibasa's Kolhan University.

The Gorakhpur tragedy that happened on August 10 and 11 invited rage from across the country.
