Ramdev teaches yoga to Yogi, ministers

On Wednesday morning, Baba Ramdev turned yoga tutor to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Ram Naik and others. The event, in which 1,500 people took part, was a prelude to upcoming International Yoga Day celebrations.

Ministers Dinesh Sharma, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Siddarth Nath Singh, Srikant Sharma were also part of the practice session.

The CM said yoga helps develop a healthy body and mind. Naik said yoga leads to development of mental health.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the yoga day celebrations to be held in Lucknow on June 21.

Yogi shown black flags

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was shown black flags by students of Lucknow university during his visit to the university.

The CM was the chief guest at ‘Hindvi Swaraj Samaroh’ organised at the university on Wednesday.

The students claimed that the university administration was utilizing funds meant for students for organising chief minister’s function.

When the CM arrived at the university to attend the programme, the students, who were said to belong to Samajwadi Party and AISA, jumped in front of his convoy and waved black flags.

The police arrested 14 students in connection with the incident.

Bhim Army activists arrested

Saharanpur police arrested two office bearers of the Bhim Army, a reactionary organisation, which is alleged to be behind the violence in the city and neighbouring area in the past couple of weeks.

The arrested—Deepak Kumar and Praveen Gautam—have been accused of inciting violence, ransacking the police station and attacking reporters. They were allegedly behind the violence on May 9 in which a police chowki and 20 vehicles were torched.

According to police, Bhim Army is responsible for spreading violence in Saharanpur which led to the death of two people.

Mayawati, Akhilesh to share podium

With the aim to form a grand alliance to arrest the phenomenal growth of the BJP, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav and the BSP chief Mayawati is likely to share the dais in Patna.

At the Patna rally in August 27, which is being organised by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, the two bitter political rivals are expected to be seen together.

Akhilesh has already confirmed his participation and Mayawati too has agreed to be part of the rally, according to RJD spokesperson Ashok Singh.

It has been learnt that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be among the others participating in the rally. Congress president Sonia Gandhi too is likely to attend the rally.
