Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Nanda joins IIM Ahmedabad for BPGP, online MBA for 'working professionals'

Bollywood veterans Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has joined the Ahmedabad Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for an MBA programme. She has reportedly enrolled on the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP), an online MBA programme launched by Ahmedabad IIM for the benefit of professionals who want to pursue academic dreams while working.

Navya Nanda, 26, announced her getting into the prestigious management institute with the public via Instagram on Sunday.  “Dreams do come true !!!!!! The next 2 years... with the best people & faculty! Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026,” her post was captioned.

Navya Nanda is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan, the firstborn of the Bollywood couple, and Nikhil Nanda. She completed her undergraduate course in Digital Technology and UX Design from USA’s Fordham University, reports said.

According to reports, Navya Nanda is the co-founder of Aara Health, women-centric health-tech startup dedicated to enhancing menstrual hygiene and offering health solutions for women. She hosts the podcast "What the Hell Navya", in which she often conducts discussions with her mother, Shweta, and grandmother, Jaya Bachchan.

IIMA's BPGP: Who can enrol?

The BPGP is a two-year programme like most MBA courses and comprises online sessions as well as on-campus sessions. 

"The programme will be conducted over 900 hours of classroom sessions and project work, constituting 36 credits of coursework. The Programme will have on-campus modules, typically lasting one week each. The Online MBA curriculum provides the participants with functional and organizational skills to succeed in a dynamic and challenging business environment," the IIMA website said. 

Law And Business, managerial computing, microeconomics, corporate finance and sustainability are among the areas covered in the course of the three-term course.

To join BPGP, a candidate must be a working professional or entrepreneur with at least 3 years of full-time work experience. There is no upper age limit but people below 24 years of age are not allowed, reports said. A bachelor’s degree, CA, CS, ICWA, or a similar qualification with at least 15 years of schooling is also mandatory, India Today said.

The programme fee is ₹20 lakh (INR 20,00,000).
