'Transforming India Conclave' creates waves with outstanding thought leaders

The third edition of the three-day 'Transforming India Conclave 2024' took place at SSVM School in Coimbatore from September 1 to 3

The third edition of the three-day 'Transforming India Conclave 2024' took place at SSVM School in Coimbatore from September 1 to 3, featuring notable speakers such as renowned Indian astronaut and former Indian Air Force officer Rakesh Sharma (Retd), journalist Palki Sharma and MP Dr Shashi Tharoor. The theme of this year's conclave was 'Resilient Today, Sustainable Tomorrow'.

In his inaugural address, Rakesh Sharma said, “Space exploration is more than a scientific endeavour; it is a testament to our relentless pursuit of knowledge and our collective aspiration to elevate humanity.”

Many speakers graced the stage with valuable and inspirational insights.

Dr Srimathy Kesan, Founder and CEO of Space Kidz India, was present in a discussion called, ‘Beyond Earth: Navigating the Cosmos and Inspiring a Nation’s Future’. The conversation provided valuable perspectives into space exploration and how the same has contributed to the development of India.

Dr Manimekalai Mohan, Founder and Managing Trustee of SSVM group of institutions, highlighted the theme of this year's conclave. She praised the institution for guiding the students and giving them opportunities to explore ways to build sustainable futures for themselves.

Founder-Chairman of Bollant Industries, Mr Srikanth Bolla, touched the hearts of many, by pointing out the difference between vision and sight. The visually-challenged entrepreneur was turned down by multiple IITs, before being accepted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He mentioned that former president APJ Abdul Kalam was his role model.

Awards, honouring both students and teachers, were distributed during the event.

Ms Palki Sharma presented the Studentpreneur Award 2024, a nationwide contest that recognises students for their innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. The award comes with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

Ms Sharma highlighted the value of authenticity in storytelling and the importance of producing narratives that can “inspire, provoke thought, and ignite change in a world desperate for clarity and purpose.”

The Inspirational Guru Awards 2024, were established to recognise and celebrate outstanding educators. This year, 25 teachers from across the nation were selected for their significant contribution to education and their vital role in guiding and empowering young minds.

The valedictory address was by chief guest Mr Tharoor. The author and former diplomat virtually launched his book, ‘A Wonderland of Words: Around the Word in 101 Essays’, on the third day of the programme. “In the end, resilient nations are those that are not only materially prosperous but intellectually vibrant, morally grounded, and deeply conscious of their place in the world,” he said.

Highlighting various perspectives and fostering meaningful discussions, the conference provided valuable insights to everyone who participated.
