From struggling to meet ends with his humble family in Porbandar making the tough call to move to Africa, under the guidance and motivation of one of his siblings, and starting new journey in the world of business, Rizwan Adatia at every step of the way showed that he was meant for bigger and better things in life. He also proved the same when he became a business magnate and is now the Chairman of the multi-thousand crore COGEF Group, which has a presence across eight countries in Africa.
He has today come forward to speak on long-term goal planning in business, stating that business owners must have the goal of attaining their visions in the next 3-5 years and keep growing from there to expand their businesses and brands worldwide. Wondering why long-term goal planning is essential? Well, Rizwan Adatia says that they provide clarity and help businesses move in a particular direction while guiding their decisions. “The concise view of the current state of the organization combined with the clarity of the organization’s future state acts as a powerful tool, enabling an accurate gap analysis and grounding of the strategy,” states the well-accomplished entrepreneur.
Rizwan Adatia further explains how entrepreneurs can achieve long-term goals in businesses. He says that they must start by writing down their strategic plan, begin from the end and work their way back from their vision toward their current state. They must understand that vision is the destination and their long-term goals are their milestones.
Focusing on all these strategies himself by learning through the process of building and developing businesses in Africa, Rizwan Adatia proved his mettle as a one-of-a-kind business owner who not just believed in gaining all the profits but also in staying consistent in his journey by continuing to expand his businesses all over. All this today has acted as a great source of motivation for many other young business owners out there, who look up to this man who oozes great enthusiasm and energy to make the most of the opportunities and giving his best, no matter what.
This top entrepreneur has spent most of his life in Africa, where everything he has learned in business he attributes to the cities he moved to spread his businesses. He recalls how as the youngest of the six siblings born in India, he faced several challenges on his path. Moving to Africa, he had to start with learning their language, culture, the pulse of the target demographic for the business and much more. However, his strong self-belief and perseverance made everything possible for him.
Besides focusing on long-term goal planning in business, he has also focused on what better way he can give back to communities and societies and those in dire need of the basic necessities of life. This led him to launch RAF Global, his NGO, in 2015, that since then, has remained dedicated to spreading the good among others and providing people with the best of health, education and more.
