Regional Industry Conclave 2024 was inaugurated at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Convention Center at Jablapur in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The event was ceremoniously opened by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who cut the ribbon after lighting the lamp. Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, Panchayat Minister Prahlad Patel, and MSME Minister Chaitanya Kashyap were also present.

The conclave drew more than 3,500 investors from five countries and nine states. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released the Investment Promotion Policy Book. Industrialists present praised the government’s efforts, highlighting the vast investment potential in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh: Aligning with PM Modi’s vision

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized India’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that Madhya Pradesh is prepared to align with this vision. He noted that India has become the fifth-largest economy under Modi’s leadership. The Chief Minister mentioned a recently signed MoU to manufacture tanks in Jabalpur, marking a shift from traditional cannon manufacturing. Additionally, he announced initiatives to have Madhya Pradesh’s diamonds cut within the state, rather than outside, fostering local industry.

Investment prospects in a 'double engine' government

Mohan Yadav highlighted the investment opportunities available under the ‘double engine’ government, referring to the collaborative efforts of both the state and central governments. He noted that Madhya Pradesh has achieved the top position in the auctioning of mines and sees significant employment potential in the state’s education sector. The development of 16 industrial parks in the Mahakoshal region was also mentioned as a critical achievement.

Skill centre for textiles, garments

In a significant announcement, the Chief Minister revealed plans to establish a skill centre in Jabalpur focused on textiles and garments, aimed at further boosting the local economy. Welcoming investors, he emphasised the state’s efforts to create an appealing investment environment.

Exemplary mining auctions

Reflecting on Madhya Pradesh’s economic progress, CM Mohan noted that despite a history of exploitation, the state has strengthened its economy over the past years. He pointed out that the transparent and clean system of mining auctions in the state has set a national example.

The conclave underscored Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to economic growth and investment, positioning itself as a promising destination for investors worldwide.
