Dr B. Ravi Pillai, NRI businessman and chairman of RP group, was honoured with Bahrain's prestigious Medal of Efficiency (First Class). His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa awarded the medal to him. Dr Pillai is the only foreign businessman to receive this esteemed title from the King of Bahrain.
The award is in recognition of "Dr. Pillai's outstanding contributions to the kingdom, particularly in the fields of refinery operations, local community development and strengthening of Bahrain's global position".
Upon receiving the honour, Dr Pillai expressed his profound gratitude and said he is dedicating this honour to more than 100,000 dearest employees and their families, whose hard work, dedication and commitment have played a pivotal role in all our achievements.
He said that he would dedicate this honour to all the Indians too, especially the expats in the Gulf region, whose contributions have been instrumental to the growth and prosperity of this region.
