IIFA Event to Boost Tourism Investment in Rajasthan - Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari

Jaipur, 22 September: In the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Secretary of Tourism, Art & Culture, and Archaeology Department Mr. Ravi Jain, the "IIFA25 Celebration @ Jaipur Host City Agreement Signing Ceremony" was held on Sunday, 22 September 2024, at Albert Hall Museum. During the ceremony, IIFA Vice President Mr. Suresh Iyer and Rajasthan Government’s Tourism Commissioner Mr. Vijay Pal Singh signed the MoU. Under this agreement, the "IIFA25 Celebrations" will be organized in Jaipur from 7 to 9 March 2025.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari stated that, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to promote tourism, innovation in the tourism sector is being encouraged in Rajasthan. In line with this, and under the guidance of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the "IIFA25 Celebration" will be held in Jaipur from 7 to 9 March 2025.

Diya Kumari said that the IIFA Awards would undoubtedly boost tourism in Rajasthan. During the event, well-known Bollywood stars and celebrities from the film industry will be our esteemed guests in Jaipur. We will warmly welcome these cinema personalities to Rajasthan and Jaipur. This event will further strengthen the unique culture and tourism of Rajasthan on a global stage.

She further added that on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the IIFA Awards, a grand celebration marking 25 glorious years of Indian cinema will be held in Jaipur. Various segments of the IIFA Awards and activities will be organized over three days.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that this event will significantly boost tourism in Rajasthan, increase investment in the tourism sector, and create employment opportunities. She mentioned that all sectors related to tourism will benefit from this event.

On this occasion, Secretary Mr. Ravi Jain informed that the "IIFA25 Celebrations" will include several events over the three-day period from 7 to 9 March 2025 in Jaipur. The event will feature performances by leading celebrities and honor the mega achievers and most successful figures in Indian cinema during this millennium. The awards will provide a global branding and destination marketing opportunity for the state. After multiple discussions between the Tourism Department of Rajasthan and IIFA management, the #IIFA25 event is scheduled to be hosted in Jaipur, Rajasthan in March 2025.

IIFA Vice President Mr. Suresh Iyer said that this unique signature event will be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan in March 2025 to celebrate Indian cinema. He mentioned that IIFA was established in the year 2000 and has since been hosted annually across 14 different countries and 18 distinct cities.

Mr. Iyer added that the goal is to organize this event and the awards ceremony in Jaipur, Rajasthan on a grand scale. The event will have global outreach and will create opportunities for Rajasthan in the areas of tourism, media, and entertainment. The last IIFA event held in India was in 2020 in Mumbai, and now the opportunity has come to Jaipur in 2025.

**Invitation to the IIFA Awards 2024 in Abu Dhabi**

Mr. Suresh Iyer also extended an invitation to Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari for the IIFA Awards 2024, which will be held at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, from 27 to 29 September 2024.

It is noteworthy that when the IIFA journey began, a small percentage of Indian cinema’s revenue came from international markets. Almost 25 years later, 25-30% of Indian cinema’s revenue now comes from international markets, many of which were opened by hosting IIFA in those regions. The IIFA is regarded as the ultimate honor by both the film industry and global fans and is referred to by the media as the "traveling Oscars." More details will be shared at regular intervals by the IIFA management and the Government of Rajasthan in the lead-up to the grand March celebrations, where fans of Indian cinema will gather in Jaipur to celebrate its globalization.

Additional Director of Tourism Mr. Rakesh Sharma, Additional Director Mr. Anand Tripathi, Director of Archaeology Department Mr. Pankaj Dharendra, Joint Director (Investments) Mr. Pawan Kumar Jain, and Deputy Director of Tourism Mr. Upendra Singh Shekhawat, along with other departmental officers, were also present at the ceremony.
