Malayalis are infamous for their trolls. And if you mess with something as dear as food, you better be ready to face the heat of trolls. Renowned chef Sanjeev Kapoor was on the receiving end recently when he cooked up a Malabar version of paneer.
Describing the dish, Sanjeev Kapoor wrote: "Malabar Paneer - A wonderful Malabar dish that has the flavours, spices and offers several gastronomic opportunities. The food is generally fresh, aromatic and flavoured." Keralites, though, were far from impressed.
All hell broke lose as Malayalis dissociated themselves from the 'north indian' paneer, and expressed their love for non-vegetarian dishes like fish, mutton, and not to forget beef. “Malabar paneer? That's very insulting,” tweeted a user. Where is the beef, asked some. “This relentless paneerification of all Indian dishes must be stopped,” tweeted another user.
For Ur information, U know one thing we Malabaries do not eat paneer,we don't make it too..we are known for our non-veg items such as Beef biriyaani, beef fry etc.pls don't say anything without understanding..

Exasperated farrago of distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies. And of course, someone fed him beef masquerading as a Paneer Chilli Malabari.

*sigh*
Poor Kapoor, little had he known this experimental dish would not go down well with Malayalis.
