My personal style is: It’s a minimalist yet an avant-garde aesthetic. My focus is on tailored clothing, with the addition of bold prints and statement handbags that I hope add an element of creativity and individuality, and tie together a look that is both deliberate and expressive. My wardrobe also reflects a commitment to sustainable luxury fashion.
My personal style icon: The character of Moira Rose from 'Schitt's Creek'. I love the hair, the jewellery, the clothes, the killer dialogue and, above all, how eloquently she pulls it off.
An item in my wardrobe that means a lot to me: A gold ring with a small heart on it that my grandmother gave me when I was about eight years old. Over the years I have dropped that ring multiple times -- at school, the local park and on piles of sand -- and each time it has been found and has come back to me.
My favourite souvenir from my travels is: Well-designed bags. They could be a tote or a shopping bag or an envelope for a receipt, or even paper bags from museums. Aesthetically appealing in their font, size, colour, material, texture, and graphic. I keep them for some time and then recycle them by using them.
The best gift I have received: Is a pair of gold earrings my husband Mortimer gave me for Christmas 18 years ago. He surprised me with them and I still love wearing them. It is not easy to shop for me or to surprise me.
The best gift I have given: When I was about five years old I gave my father a 25-paisa coin to buy a Mercedes when I heard him say he liked the car.
The last thing I bought: A Dyson hairdryer. I am in love with it. I can’t believe I waited so long to get it.
The last book I read: 'Small Things Like These', a historical fiction novel by Claire Keegan.
The last film I loved: I have two: 'Lapaataa Ladies' by Kiran Rao, and Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine As Light'. Both are outstanding films and ones I would be happy to watch again.
My Spotify list would include these songs: I am the happiest when a song from the 1980s pops up. It instantly puts me in a good mood.
My beauty/ wellness routine is: I have a turmeric and ginger shot every morning. I make these in big batches and freeze them in ice trays. Castor oil is a favourite for psoriasis/ dry elbows and knees. And I love doing Pilates.
My favourite holiday destination: Anywhere new.
I love to collect: Anything that can be recycled. Packaging material, boxes, envelopes, and paper are all reused at my gallery. I therefore dislike it when an organisation uses cheap materials that have to be binned.
My fridge always has: Fruit. I love fruit and would replace meals with them if they were a little more filling.
Minimalism or maximalism: Minimalism. I love maximalism as an aesthetic but it doesn’t come easy to me.
My home looks like: We live in a historical 'Bombay' structure that has high ceilings and Minton floor tiles. It’s filled with classical and contemporary art and artifacts and is overflowing with books.
My favourite mix of traditional and contemporary is: I recently bought a well designed contemporary jacket by the brand Namai which shows off traditional textile.
My best ideas come when: I am quiet, alone, decompressing and recharging.
The best way to spend Rs 20,000 is: At a vintage store acquiring a piece of fashion history. You could get lucky and find a runway piece. Plus vintage shopping is environmentally friendly.
My idea of happiness is: To be tucked in bed by 10pm. A warm shower followed by a hot cup of tea in bed.
