Pharmeasy acquires Medlife to form India’s largest online pharmacy

Medlife users will be automatically onboarded

On Tuesday, visitors to Medlife received a message saying “Medlife is now Pharmeasy”. The latter, the Mumbai-based healthcare aggregator, has announced its acquisition of the Bengaluru-based Medlife. The merger will form India’s largest online pharmacy according to reports.

“Medlife has catered to the country’s healthcare needs covering 465+ cities. This merger is sure to complement PharmEasy’s ever-growingefforts in India’s healthcare space,” Pharmeasy said in a blog post.

Pharmeasy co-founder Dhaval Shah wrote on LinkedIn that the move would make the company the “largest healthcare delivery platform across the country by a distance—serving more than two million families every single month.”

Pharmeasy said Medlife users would automatically become Pharmeasy users and promised a smooth transition, with Shah saying it would be a “single click for the user”.

Medlife will discontinue operations and merge with PharmEasy starting May 25, the company said.

How to log in to Pharmeasy as a Medlife customer?

Pharmeasy has published a walkthrough on the same on their website. It says: Medlife customers have been automatically registered with PharmEasy. Your account on Medlife with the registered number has been set up on PharmEasy. Open the PharmEasy App, enter your registered number and subsequent OTP to access your PharmEasy account.

Order history and uploaded prescriptions and saved addresswes, dating back to a year, have been trasnferred to the new account. Past lab reports will remainunchanged.

Wallet balance will have to be transferred to the users’ bank account. However, Medcash balance will not be transferred, with Pharmeasy saying it expired on May 23.
