JioBook laptop is touted as India's 'first learning book'

Reliance Retail launched its affordable second-generation JioBook laptop that focuses on learning for all age groups on July 31. Touted as the country's 'first learning book', the laptop features educational tools to help students and professionals. The new model is set to get several upgrades on its specifications over the previous version launched in October 2022.

A Reliance Retail spokesperson said, "We are dedicated to introduce innovative products that empower individuals in their learning journey. The all-new JioBook is our latest offering catering to learners of all ages with its advanced features and seamless connectivity options. We believe JioBook will revolutionise the way people learn, opening new opportunities for personal growth and skill development.”

Price

The new JioBook is priced at Rs 16,499. You will get access to free 100GB cloud storage on Digiboxx for a year, a one-year subscription to Quick Heal's anti-virus software and a laptop carry case.

How to buy JioBook?

Though you can pre-order JioBook now itself, the laptop will be available only from August 5. If you want to experience the JioBook in person, you can go to your nearest Reliance Digital's offline store. Otherwise, you can buy it on the Amazon website or Reliance Digital's online store.

Specifications

Main features: The matte-finish laptop with 11.6-inch anti-glare HD display weighs just 990 grams and is ultra-thin. It comes with an infinity keyboard and a large multi-gesture trackpad. The webcam is 2MP

Connectivity: The new JioBook houses 4G LTE SIM slot and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz). It also has two USB 2.0 ports, one mini-HDMI port and a 3.5 mm headphone/microphone jack

Processor: It boasts a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM.

Battery: The company claims that the device has eight hours of battery backup on a single charge.

Memory: The 64GB of internal storage can be extended to 256 GB using a micro-SD card.

Operating System: JioBook will be running the company's proprietary JioOS instead of Windows 10 or 11. The OS offers intuitive interface, multi-tasking screens and screen transparency control. It also gives access to educational videos on JioTV, propular games on JioCloud Gaming, besides JioBIAN Ready which helps students learn coding in C/C++, Java, Python, and Pearl.
