In his latest Podcast, Nikhil Kamath, best known as a serial entrepreneur who co-founded discount brokerage Zerodha, pledged Rs 50 lakhs for charity alongside Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar Shaw.

Kamath has been hosting a podcast called WTF is where he discusses issues of current relevance with experts from diverse industries. Recent guests on WTF is included Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, Mukesh Bhansal, CEO of fitness platform Cult.fit, Kishore Biyani, CEO of the Future Group and most recently Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, entrepreneur and founder of Biocon Limited, who, in the seventh episode of the podcast, spoke about the challenges she encountered while establishing her biotech company. Also, in the same episode, Kamath declared that every episode of WTF is will be pledging a certain amount towards a democratically decided charity, with the amount pooled in by both Kamath and his guest on the podcast. The final choice of the charity will be made by the listeners/viewers as they get to vote on the charity which gets the funds. The poll is currently live until August 4, 8pm.

Kamath has hosted Varun Mayya, the CEO of Scenes & Tech Expert, comedian Tanmay Bhatt, Umang Bedi, the Co-founder of Josh and DailyHunt and Aprameya RadhaKrishna, Co-founder of TaxiForSure and Koo to discuss ChatGPT in one of his episodes. His podcast, says the host, brings to the audiences casual yet intellectually stimulating conversations with industry experts, sharing insights on professional journeys and life beyond business. The podcast covers a broad range of topics including technology, social media, renewable energy, electric vehicles, philosophy, gaming, psychology and more.

In one of the episodes, when talking about the possibility of artificial intelligence leading to depression among techies, he said,"I have figured out the secret of happiness and contentment- Low expectations. Every philosopher, every school of thought that you read from ever, you take Buddhism, you take Confucianism, you take anything. I feel like being indifferent and having really low expectations is the key to happiness and content.”

In a world where philanthropy and social responsibility are becoming more vital, Nikhil Kamath's initiative exemplifies how business leaders can create a positive impact beyond the corporate world. Recently, he was part of a three-person delegation (the other two were industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Anand Mahindra) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a visit to the White House.
