Ninety-two-year-old media mogul Rupert Murdoch is dating retired scientist Elena Zhukova, months after his engagement with vineyard owner Ann Lesley Smith was canceled.
According to media reports, 66-year-old Zhukova and Murdoch rented a yacht and have been vacationing on the island of Corfu, Greece, along with two of his children. Murdoch and Zhukova are in the 'early stages' of a romance.
“He (Murdoch) is got the energy of people half his age,” a source close to the media mogul has been quoted as saying.
Murdoch reportedly met Zhukova, a molecular biologist and specialist in diabetes, through his third wife Wendi Deng. Her daughter Darya Zhukova was married to former Chelsea FC owner and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich. They separated after 10 years of marriage.
Zhukova moved to the US from Russia three decades ago, along with her daughter Darya. Before her retirement, Zhukova worked in the medical research unit at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Zhukova was married and divorced twice, while Murdoch was married four times.
