150 employees of crisis-hit Go First resign: Report

Staff sentiments have been really low as they haven't been paid salaries

Nearly 150 employees of the beleaguered airliner Go First resigned even as the company is attempting to restart operations.

According to media reports, Go First hasn't been paying salaries to employees since May although it had promised retention bonuses and a quick restart.

In May, after the company filed an application for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal, there was a spate of resignations, but it had reduced gradually.

However, over the months, employee dissatisfaction has increased, and according to a Moneycontrol report, "around 150 employees, including 30 pilots, 50 cabin crew members and 50 ground handling and engineering employees, have put in their papers in the last two weeks."

According to a Go First employee, staff sentiments have been really low as none of the departments have been paid salaries for the past three months and hence the resignations were only expected.

The Supreme Court had recently rejected First's plea against the Delhi High Court order allowing lessors to inspect the aircraft which they had lent to the airline.
