Who is Arjun Mohan, the new India CEO of BYJU'S

He replaces Mrinal Mohit, who stepped down owing to 'personal reasons'

Edtech firm BYJU'S, on Wednesday, announced that its founding partner and India operations CEO Mrinal Mohit has stepped down owing to "personal reasons." He will be replaced by Arjun Mohan, who is currently the international CEO of the company.

"Arjun Mohan (is) taking charge as the CEO of India operations. He succeeds Mrinal Mohit, founding partner and the outgoing head of India business at BYJU'S, who is embarking on a new journey to pursue personal aspirations," BYJU'S said in a statement.

"If BYJU'S has reached the remarkable heights it stands at today, it is due to the extraordinary efforts of our founding team. Mrinal's contributions have left an indelible mark on our organisation, and we bid him a bittersweet farewell," BYJU'S founder and Group CEO Byju Raveendran said.

Mohan was part of BYJU'S founding team and was the chief business officer in his previous stint with the company.

According to his LinkedIn bio, Mohan was with BYJU'S for more than 11 years before moving to upGrad to become the chief executive officer-India, of the company. He rejoined BYJU'S recently.

During his previous stint at BYJU'S, he was responsible for the international business and expansion of the company in his role as chief business officer. Before this, he was vice president, marketing, of BYJU'S.

Mohan, who completed his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode in 2012, spent the last three months working closely with Raveendran.

"Arjun's return is a testament to his belief in our mission and the unparalleled opportunities that lie ahead. His expertise will undoubtedly help our turnaround efforts and strengthen our position in the global edtech landscape," Raveendran said in a statement.

Mohan said he is "ready to play my role in helping BYJU’S empower our current and future generations to thrive in a rapidly changing world."
