Retail chain Croma came out with a strong statement on Sunday after its employees were attacked in a Delhi store recently over the delay in delivery of an iPhone.

A video that has gone viral showed heated verbal altercations between employees of an electronic store in north Delhi and customers who were excited to purchase the recently launched iPhone 15 Series that became available in India on Friday.

According to news agency PTI, two people have been arrested in connection with the incident. The accused—Jaskirat Singh and Mandeep Singh—had booked an iPhone-15 at the Croma centre, and picked up a fight with the employee as the store failed to deliver their booked phone on Friday, the expected delivery date, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi said.

Following the incident, preventive action under Section 107/151 of the Criminal Procedure Code was taken against the duo and both were arrested on Friday, Kalsi said.

In a statement issued on its LinkedIn page on Sunday, Croma said it "strongly condemns the verbal and physical abuse on a partner employee by a customer in our store at New Delhi."

"As a brand, Croma deeply values our customers and is committed to being customer-centric. However, we have zero tolerance for such kind of unacceptable behaviour and will extend full cooperation to the investigating agencies. We are also offering all support to the affected individuals," Croma further said.
