With Air India rebranding itself, the Tata Group-owned airlines has unveiled the new look of its A350 planes with the updated logo at a workshop in the French city of Toulouse.
"Here's the first look of the majestic A350 in our new livery at the paint shop in Toulouse. Our A350s start coming home this winter," Air India posted on the X platform.
The old logo of a red swan with orange spokes was replaced with The Vista, as the new Air India new logo is called, flaunts a combination of gold, red, and aubergine. Air India, which was acquired by Tata Sons in January last year, reportedly spent $400 million to incorporate the new look in its fleet.
Campbell Wilson, Air India CEO & MD, earlier said that all Air India planes will get the new logo by 2025.
The new look was unveiled a day after Air India said it has commissioned a 54,000 sqft centralised warehouse facility near Air India's aircraft hangars at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport. The facility, which can store more than 10 lakh engineering spares for aircraft maintenance, is expected to improve the turnaround time of flights operating out of Delhi.
"This facility will not only boost Air India's fleet and operational efficiency but will also strengthen India's aviation ecosystem. The warehouse will offer us more proximate access to and better control over our aircraft spares enabling us to meet any engineering requirement promptly -- leading to improved punctuality of flights," PTI quoted Wilson as saying.
On September 29, Air India announced that it concluded the acquisition of its first A350 plane, The Week had reported. It was part of Air India’s record order for 470 planes placed back in June. The first of Air India’s six Airbus A350-900 is expected to arrive in India by the end of this year, with the remaining aircraft scheduled for deliveries through March 2024.
