The Naval Ship Repair Yard in Karwar, Karnataka, and the Naval Aircraft Yard in Goa have recently announced 210 apprentice vacancies, offering a golden opportunity to kickstart your career in these fields. These apprentice vacancies encompass a wide range of trades, catering to diverse skill sets and interests. Whether your passion lies in carpentry, electrical work, electronics, fitting, information technology, instrument mechanics, machining, diesel mechanics, vehicle maintenance, refrigeration and AC, painting, plumbing, sheet metal work, tailoring, welding, rigging, or ship construction – they have a spot just for you. Moreover, there are also opportunities available in computer operations, programming, and specialized trades related to electricians, electronics mechanics, and instrument mechanics in the aircraft domain.

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must have completed their 10th standard with a minimum of 50% marks and possess an ITI (NCVT/SCVT) certification in the relevant trade, with a minimum of 65% marks. For those interested in the Rigger trades, an 8th class education is the prerequisite. As for the age requirement, applicants should fall within the range of 14 to 21 years.

Selected candidates will receive a  stipend during their apprenticeship period. For one-year ITI courses, the stipend is set at Rs 7700, while for two-year ITI courses, it is Rs 8050. Freshers in the Rigger trade can anticipate a stipend ranging from Rs 2500 to Rs 5500, depending on experience and skill level.
