When Apple announced its "Scary Fast" event last week, fans of the brand were quick to point out that the event will be focused on devices powered by Apple's next-generation silicon chip, M3. The word 'scary' is a reference to Halloween eve on October 31, when the event is scheduled, many guessed that the second word hints at M3 chips.

The artwork of Apple logo for the event transforms into the Mac Finder icon that resembles a Halloween pumpkin and all fingers pointed at launch of new Macs.

Much-awaited iMac launch

Apple's 24-inch iMac has been powered by the M1 chip since 2021. Hence, it's high time that iMac‌ gets an upgrade with the M3 chip. A sudden shift to M3 is likely to enhance CPU and GPU performances, but most notably the GPU performance.

Fingers crossed on Macbook Pro

In January this year, MacBook Pro's 16- and 14-inch models were already upgraded with the M2 Pro and ‌M2‌ Max chips. So we have to wait and watch if these devices will get an upgrade within a span of 10 months.

Not all Macs will get an upgrade

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is expected to get M3 chip only by next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

MacBook Air, Mac mini, Mac Pro and Mac Studio may also get 2024, and the same goes for the iPads and AirPods. We are not expecting new iPads or new versions of the AirPods until next year.

USB-C accessories for Mac

With the iPhone 15 models and Airpods replacing with Lightning port with USB-C, we can expect more Apple accessories to come with an updated port, thanks to new EU norms. These include Mac accessories including Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.

Watch the event live on Apple's YouTube page from 5.30am on Tuesday, October 31.
