Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has been hospitalised in Mexico City due to possible stroke, as per reports by Mexican media outlets.

According to Heraldo de Mexico, a Mexican outlet, Wozniak who suffered a ischemic stroke, was admitted to the ABC Hospital in Mexico City. He later underwent an MRI scan and is stable, according to the outlet. According to Mayo Clinic, an ischemic stroke occurs when the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the brain tissue is cut as a result of interruption or reduction in blood supply.

However, TMZ, quoting sources, reported that Wozniak was taken ill after “suffering what appears to be vertigo”.

Wozniak was in Mexico City on Wednesday to attend the World Business Forum, where he was scheduled to deliver a speech. He told his wife he was “feeling strange”, TMZ quoted sources as saying. Following this, his wife took him to a hospital despite him reportedly not willing to go and saying he will be fine.

Wozniak, known as Woz in Silicon Valley circles, co-founded Apple along with Steve Jobs in 1976. He is known for designing the Apple I and Apple II computers, which took the company to new heights. After a traumatic airplane accident in 1981, he briefly left Apple and Jobs took over. He permanently left Apple in 1985 and founded CL 9, where he launched the first programmable universal remote in 1987.

In a scene, Sheldon reaches out to Wozniak while dining in The Cheesecake Factory where Penny works, he is approached by Sheldon via the telepresence robot, Texai. Leonard explains to Penny who Wozniak is but she tells him that she already knows him from Dancing with the Stars, referring to Wozniak's participation with Karina Smirnoff in Season 8 of the reality show in 2009.
