The expansion of AI on a global scale is certainly undeniable. With the creation of self-learning robots, deep learning platforms and robotic process automation, it is safe to say that AI is going to shape the future of every industry and every sector across the globe.

ChatGPT is one such deep learning AI platform which is successfully completing one year. It goes without saying that the invention of ChatGPT will act as the tipping point for AI for years to come.

Just last year, ChatGPT introduced an updated version with a highly sophisticated new chat box. With this, the scope of what AI could create for mankind increased tenfold. Sales executives could use ChatGPT to gather data, authors could use it to write forewords, students could create one-of-a-kind essays and entrepreneurs could use this platform to come up with business pitches. Twitter exploded with users suggesting hundreds of ideas that ChatGPT could generate; from creating recipes with only the ingredients in the refrigerator to customised itineraries for future travel plans, from making weight loss diet charts to finding top ten lists for the best restaurants in town, ChatGPT could be used for anything and everything.

ChatGPT's ability to create paragraphs and paragraphs of well-researched data in mere seconds certainly has more significant implications than ever imagined. ChatGPT became a platform that had the uncanny ability to answer specific questions with detailed answers which can often be used by students to write essays, complete assignments, answer examination questions and even create unique SOPs. While educators became concerned that students may decide to outsource their assignments to ChatGPT, we must account for the fact that ChatGPT was able to introduce a range of new ideas and out-of-the-box content which could further improve the thinking skills of students.

However, certain studies have shown that ChatGPT has a history of incorrect citations and inaccurate research when it comes to the fields of academia, medicine, and healthcare. Additionally, ChatGPT could be a threat to existing services. Companies may no longer want to hire content writers and social media strategists, instead, they may prefer to use content that ChatGPT churns out for them. One argument is that every person could become an author and every second person can write code thanks to the brains of ChatGPT. Then again, quality and exclusivity speak for themselves.

While we may look at the cons of ChatGPT in the field of academics and education, we must also consider the bigger picture. ChatGPT can be usefully optimised by businesses, researchers, customer care representatives, and software engineers alike to work efficiently. Businesses can use the AI platform to create marketing and branding content which can save hours in the long run. Researchers can use ChatGPT as a research platform, companies can improve their customer care services using this chat box and software engineers can create codes by typing in some basic commands into ChatGPT.

All in all, we need to focus on one of the most important factors that makes ChatGPT stand apart which is its ability to answer follow-up questions directly as well as its capacity to understand human instruction and improve results accordingly; machine learning at its best.

Seeing the success of ChatGPT and other such AI driven platforms, it is safe to say that this is just the beginning. ChatGPT is simply the tip of the iceberg; the future of AI is just beginning.
