Vodafone Idea Limited on Wednesday announced that its chief regulatory and corporate affairs officer P. Balaji has filed his resignation
VIL, in a BSE filing, said Balaji's final day at the company will be January 10, 2024.
"I appreciate the opportunity given to me by Vodafone Idea to serve for over 9 years and am proud of the work we have done together to help transform the company," Balaji wrote in his resignation letter, adding that he is pursuing personal and professional goals outside of VIL.
"I would like to resign from the services of the company with immediate effect. I shall be grateful if the company releases me from my responsibilities at the earliest and waives the contractual notice period obligation," he said.
Who is P. Balaji?
Balaji joined Vodafone India nine years ago. He was the the Director - Regulatory, External Affairs and CSR and was responsible for leading the company’s Regulatory, Public Policy & Government Relations activities. He also led the External Affairs function overseeing Corporate Communications, Reputation Management and administering Corporate Social Responsibility and the Vodafone Foundation in India.
After the Vodafone-Idea merger on August 31, 2018, he became the Chief Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Officer, heading the company’s Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Relations activities along with Industry Advocacy, Corporate Communications, Reputation Management and CSR.
Before joining Vodafone India, he served as the managing director at Nokia India and Sony Mobile. He also held senior leadership positions in startup and turn-around ventures of Tata Group, AT&T, Ericsson, Lucent and Sony.
He graduated in electronics engineering from IIT Roorkee and completed his MBA in marketing, finance and strategy from IIM Ahmedabad.
