The Royal Bank of Canada, the country's largest bank, has sacked its Chief Financial Officer Nadine Ahn after she allegedly failed to disclose a close personal relationship with another employee who received preferential treatment including promotions and salary hike.
Ahn was the first female CFO among Canada's Big Six banks
The Toronto-based bank has appointed Katherine Gibson as interim CFO after terminating Ahn and has begun looking for a permanent replacement.
The bank has confirmed that the other employee who received the preferential treatment has also been terminated. An investigation into the allegations, however, cleared the duo of any misconduct linked to financial impropriety.
Who is Nadine Ahn?
Nadine Ahn who joined the Royal Bank of Canada as a senior manager 12 years ago. Later, she was promoted to managing director, vice president and senior vice president. She served as the head of investor relations at RBC before being appointed as CFO in September 2021.
