Boeing whistleblower John Barnett, who allegedly fatally shot himself in the head, had left a disturbing suicide note, shocking details of which have now been revealed. He was found dead on March 9 morning, the day he was set to testify against the aircraft manufacturer.
“I can’t do this any longer! Enough! F*** Boeing,” New York Post cited the note penned by Barnett before he killed himself in the front seat of his Dodge Ram truck.
“America, come together or die!! I pray the motherf***** that destroyed my life pay!!! I pray Boeing pays!!! Bury me face down so Boeing and their lying-ass leaders can kiss my a**,” he wrote.
Referring to his close ones, he added, “To my family and friends, I found my purpose. I’m at peace. I love you more.”
The suicide note was released by the Charleston Police Department. The police has concluded the probe saying Barnett killed himself though his lawyers had claimed there was “no indication” that he could kill himself.
Who was John Barnett?
Barnett hit the headlines after he raised concerns about Boeing's production standards, alleging issues with the aircraft's oxygen systems. The company has denied Barnett's allegations, claiming that "safety, quality and integrity are at the core of Boeing's values".
Barnett worked with Boeing for 32 years and was a quality manager since 2010 at the plane manufacturer's South Carolina branch. He retired in 2017 due to health issues. Following this, he told BBC in an interivew that workers were forced to install sub-standard parts to the aircraft and thereby compromising on safety.
