Tata Motors has launched the sporty version of its premium hatchback, Altroz Racer, promising "an experience of pure exhilaration with every drive."

Packed with a 1.2 litre Turbo Petrol engine coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the race car comes with a power of 120 Ps @5,500 rpm and a torque of 170 Nm @ 1,750 to 4,000 rpm.

Altroz Racer will be available in three variants -- R1, R2 and R3 -- and comes in three colours: Pure Grey, Atomic Orange, and Avenue White. R1 comes with a price tag of Rs 9.49 lakh while R2 costs 10.49 lakh and R3 is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh.

The attractive features of the new Altroz Racer include a 26.03 cm infotainment touchscreen, leatherette seats, six airbags, wireless AA and ACP, PEPS, LED DRLS, rear armrest, rear wipers and wash, 4 speakers + 4 tweeters, FATC, projector headlamps, front fog lamps, rear defogger, front sliding armrest, 4 power windows, electrically adjustable and autofold ORVM, cruise control, height adjustable driver seat, rear AC vents, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

For R2 and above, the additional features include electric sunroof with voice assist, wireless charger, 17.78 cm TFT digital cluster, steering mounted cluster control, 360 degree camera and Xpress Cool. The exclusive features of R3 Racer include iRA connected car tech, front ventilated seats and air purifier.

Tata Motors has come up with more options for the Altroz range including two new variants XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX. The two new variants will be available in petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel and CNG powertrains. 

XZ Lux costs Rs 8.99 lakh while XZ+S LUX is priced at around Rs 9.65 lakh. The auto giant has also introduced an upgraded XZ+OS, which costs around Rs 9.99 lakh.

Altroz is the first hatchback in country to bag the 5-Star Global NCAP Safety rating and it was also the first Indian CNG car to feature twin-cylinder technology.
