With Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea set to roll out revised mobile service tariffs with a hike in the range of 10-27 per cent this week, let us take a look at the how the earlier and new rates compare.
This marks the first major increase in tariffs by the telecom industry, in two-and-a-half years. The last time the tariffs were revised was in December 2021. Jio was the first telecom operator to announce a 12 to 27 per cent hike in tariffs on June 27. This was followed by Airtel, which announced a hike of around 11 per cent. However, the comparison of plans between the two telcos show that Airtel's new rates will cost 3 per cent to 22 per cent more than Jio's tariff.

The new tariffs of both Jio and Airtel will be effective from July 3. Vodafone Idea, the latest to announce hikes, said its new tariffs will be effective from July 4.
For Jio, the daily data add-on of 1GB will rise from Rs 15 to Rs 19 while the 75 GB postpaid data plan will see a hike from Rs 399 to Rs 449. The popular Rs 666 unlimited plan with 84-day validity will cost Rs 799 from July 3 while the annual plans have been increased from Rs 1,559 to Rs 1,899 and from Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,599.

Bharti Airtel's daily data add-on of 1GB will now see an hike by Rs 3, up from Rs 19 to Rs 22, while 365-day validity plan offering 2GB per day will surge by Rs 600 from Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,599.
For the unlimited voice plan of 28-day validity providing 2GB data, price will zoom from Rs 179 to Rs 199.

Vodafone Idea's entry-level plan with a minimum recharge value for 28 days of mobile service will be increased from Rs 179 to Rs 199.
It also raised the price of the popular 84-day validity plan with 1.5 GB data per day from Rs 719 to Rs 859.
The price of the annual unlimited plan has also seen a hike from Rs 2,899 to Rs 3,499. However, its 365 validity plan with a 24 GB data limit, which costs Rs 1,799, will see no change in price.
