Market cap tracker: Reliance, HDFC Bank gain most among Top 10 post-election; LIC, ITC lose

TCS, Infosys, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel also increased their market valuation

June 2024 saw Sensex, the 30-stock BSE benchmark index, recording the best monthly gain by surging 7.14 per cent. Among the Top 10 companies, Reliance Industries saw the most gains, along with seven other firms. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and ITC saw their market cap eroding after failing to capitalise on the post-election rally after June 4.

Reliance Industries, which was valued at Rs 19,34,717.12 crore as of May 31, has touched a market value of Rs 21,18,951.20 on as of June 30 after soaring by Rs ‭184,234.08‬ crore in a month. On Friday, the Mukesh Ambani-owned firm became the first Indian company to cross Rs 21 lakh crore in market capitalisation.

India's largest private lender HDFC Bank is currently valued at Rs 12,80,865.43 crore after climbing Rs 116,781.58 crore from Rs 11,64,083.85 crore.

Tech giant TCS, which was pegged at a value of Rs 13,27,657.21 crore by May end, is now up by Rs 85,187.88 crore and is currently valued at Rs 14,12,845.09 crore.

Infosys market cap leaped by Rs 66,741.82 crore from Rs 5,83,860.28 crore to Rs 6,50,602.10 crore.

Another private lender in the Top 10, ICICI Bank, zoomed from Rs 7,87,229.71 crore to Rs 8,44,201.88 crore following a Rs 56,972.17 crore rally in a month.

The mcap of Bharti Airtel hiked by 44,194.95‬ from Rs 7,78,335.40 crore to Rs 8,22,530.35 crore.

The valuation of Hindustan Unilever rose by Rs 34,421.51‬ crore after climbing from Rs 5,47,149.32 crore to Rs 5,81,570.83 crore.

The market capital of State Bank of India spiked to Rs 7,57,565.68 crore from Rs 7,40,832.04 crore after a Rs 16,733.64 crore jump.

LIC, ITC laggards among Top 10 in June

LIC tumbled by Rs 14,958.62 crore, seeing a drop in its market cap from Rs 6,40,532.52 crore to Rs 6,25,573.90 crore.

ITC market cap tumbled Rs 1,560.59 crore from Rs 5,32,036.41 crore to Rs 5,30,475.82 crore.

Reliance Industries continued its position as the most valued Indian company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Infosys, LIC, Hindustan Unilever and ITC.
