The iPhone maker will not roll out Apple Intelligence when the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are released in September. Instead Apple's new AI feature will be packed in the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, which will be launched in October, according to a report.

This means that the iPhone 16 will not come lauded with Apple Intelligence and customers will have to wait till October for Apple's big bet on artificial intelligence.

The Cupertino giant will initially roll out Apple Intelligence in the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 developer beta, which could be available by July end or August first week, following which it will be rolled out for the stable version of 18.1 operating system, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Why is iOS 18 not getting Apple Intelligence?

Delaying the rollout will give Apple more time to fix the bugs, ensuring a smooth user experience when the iPhone 16 reaches the hands of customers.

However, Gurman says only a handful of features promised in the WWDC 2024 event last month will be available by October. The remaining features are expected to be rolled out by 2024 end or 2025 beginning.

One of the features that is being reserved for later are the Siri facelift and ChatGPT features.

For Mac systems, the Apple Intelligence will be included when the macOS Sequoia gets updated.
