Official launch of Thar ROXX will take place on August 15, Mahindra said

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. unveiled the new Thar ROXX on the eve of India’s 78th Independence Day in Kochi. The starting price for Thar ROXX MX1 Petrol is Rs 12.99 Lakh while the diesel model starts at 13.99 Lakh. The prices for the 4x4 variants are yet to be announced.

The official launch of the vehicle will take place on August 15, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said in an official release.

The diesel variant is powered by Mahindra's 2.2 L mHawk Gen2 engine. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol version, meanwhile, is equipped with a 2.0 L turbocharged engine.

"The Thar ROXX promises to redefine the SUV experience, offering an unmatched combination of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology," Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd said.

Advanced features on the Thar ROXX include twin HD screens – a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Also offering Harman Kardon branded audio, a panoramic Skyroof and a soft touch leatherette dashboard and door trims, ROXX is expected to capture India's SUV market.
