In a shocking lawsuit in a US court, a Cognizant subsidiary TriZetto has filed a lawsuit against Infosys, alleging the Indian IT major stole trade secrets. However, Infosys has dismissed all the allegations, saying it will defend its position in the court.

"Infosys is aware of the lawsuit. We deny all allegations and will defend our position in the court," stated the company, which is led by CEO and MD Salil Parekh.

Cognizant subsidiary Cognizant TriZetto Software Group filed the lawsuit in a Texas court, alleging misappropriation of trade secrets in connection with its healthcare insurance software. TriZetto's Facets and QNXT are used by healthcare insurance firms to automate tasks.

Cognizant, in the complaint, alleged that Infosys misused TriZetto's software data to create an Infosys product called "Test Cases for Facets". It also alleged breach of law, claiming Infosys created software to extract data from QNXT, including trade secrets and confidential information.

This comes after Cognizant appointed former Infosys executive Rajesh Varrier as global head of operations and India Chairman and Managing Director. He will replace Rajesh Nambiar who will take over as Nasscom president.

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S is also an Infosys veteran, who was the IT major's president from January 2016 through October 2022.
