Innovations centring around Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and IoT (Internet of Things) are cutting across sectors and are going to play an important role in the future. It should be our aim to leverage these technologies for both personal and professional use. For instance, in sectors such as healthcare and transportation IoT sensors and the use of IoT have emerged as very important technology. Besides this, in the automotive sector, there are a lot of innovations which are coming up around clean energy space...

These observations were made by Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Axilor Ventures and Co-Founder Infosys while announcing the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) the 20th edition of its flagship India Innovation Summit- ‘Innoverge 2024' which will be held in Bengaluru from 4th to 6th September 2024.

These thoughts were also echoed in by Kamal Bali, the President and MD Volvo Group India, who pointed out that in every sector the changes in the technology legacy system are so many that new initiatives are required.

“We have been talking about industry 4.0 for many years but today we are talking about industry 5.0. In our automotive sector the kind of shift we are observing in terms of technology innovations we have not gone through in the last 100 years. We had to start with a prime mover IC engine that was produced 130 years ago will become much lower in terms of demand. However it will still continue as there would be certain clean fuels that will be used on the IC engine. For instance, we are looking at Hydrogen as a fuel for the IC engine. This innovation summit is going to look at some of the examples and innovations of IC engine with Hydrogen. The pace of change is very dramatic as far as new innovations are concerned and we are trying to capture such innovations across sectors,” remarked Bali.

The theme for the 20th edition of CII's flagship India Innovation Summit- ‘Innoverge 2024 will be India@100: Building for a Resilient, Sustainable, and Inclusive India. Over three days, the summit will bring together essential components of a thriving innovation ecosystem—universities, major corporations, startups, policymakers, and multi-stakeholder collaborations—emphasizing the pivotal role of institutions and accelerators from emerging regions in fostering inclusive and scalable innovation.

The event will also host thought leadership addressing an inclusive ecosystem in Ten different sectors such as Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, Mobility-Automotive and Transportation, Semiconductors, Tourism and Hospitality, Healthcare and Med Tech, Energy Transition/Sustainability, Education and Skilling, Space sector, Agri and Food, Retail and E-Commerce. The summit will be addressed by CEOs, industry experts and distinguished academia.

The summit will aim at harnessing innovation for organizational growth where attendees will get to learn from experts about the best ways to invest in innovation and learn how businesses are adopting high-end technology to maximize business outcomes. The summit's program will also include a conference, Tech Showcase, Apollo Health-tech (a platform to pitch ideas), Innoverge Recognitions, products, international collaborations and many more.

The government of Karnataka will be the Partner State for 2024, and will be addressed by stakeholders from Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology and Large and Medium Scale Industries and Infrastructure Development from the Karnataka government.
