Maruti Suzuki India has cut the prices of some of the entry-level vehicles after reporting 4 per cent year-on-year decline in total sales in August.
The latest move will bring down the cost of select variants of Alto K10 and S-Presso models from September 2. In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki said the price of S-Presso LXI Petrol has been slashed by Rs 2,000 while Alto K10 VXI Petrol will be Rs 6,500 cheaper.
The Alto K10 models are available in the price range of Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.96 lakh. The S-Presso comes with a price tag of Rs 4.26 lakh to Rs 6.11 lakh range (ex-showroom Delhi).
The price cut comes after the auto major saw the sale of mini-segment cars, which comprise Alto and S-Presso, plunged to 10,648 units compared to 12,209 units in the year-ago period.
The sales of compact cars like Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Celerio and Ignis also slumped 20 per cent to 58,051 units as against 58,746 units in August 2023.

The total sale of domestic passenger vehicle wholesales were at 1,43,075 units in August 2024 compared to 1,56,114 units during the same month in 2023.
