Apple Intelligence, which was introduced in June during the Cupertino giant's June WWDC event, is once again the talk of town as fans are hoping to get their hands on the new iPhone 16 series devices.

Apple Intelligence integrates generative models with personal context, according to Apple, and will be avalable on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Apple also claims that Apple Intelligence will set a new standard for AI privacy with Private Cloud Compute.

Writing Tools to make messaging simpler

One of the key features put forth by Apple Intelligence is the Writing Tools, which helps users rewrite, proofread and summarise text on email, messages etc. Rewrite can help you finessing a cover letter or add humour to a party invitation by helping use the right words depending on the occasion.

Proofread will check grammar, word choice and sentence structure besides suggesting edits. User can accept the edits or review them. Summarise can be used to reproduce a text into a digestible paragraph, bullet points, a table or a list.

Another feature is Priority Messages on Mail. This new section at the top of the inbox prioritises urgent emails like a boarding pass etc. Also instead of the first few lines of an email, users can see the summaries of whole message without opening them.

Smart Reply gives suggestions for a quick response besides identifying the questions in the email to make sure they are not missed.

Priority Notifications will ensure that important notifications appear at the top of the stack. Reduce Interruptions is a new Focus mode, allowing only notifications needing immediate attention.

Image Playground to create images

Through Image Playground, Apple Intelligence will help users express themselves like creating fun images in seconds. The feature is available as a dedicated app and also built into apps like Messages. It generates three types of images including Sketch, Animation and Illustration, and offers different concepts from themes, costumes, accessories and places.

Customise your own emoji with Genmoji

Another exciting feature introduced through Apple Intelligence is creation of Genmojis by typing descriptions like an angry duck. You can even make Genmojis of your friends or family using their photos. These can be inserted into messages or sent as stickers.

A smarter Siri

Siri will now have an efficient language-understanding capability, allowing to be more contextually relevant, more personal and make tasks easier. If you need to know how to do anything on iPhone, iPad and Mac, Siri can help you, including how to schedule an email or to switch from Light to Dark Mode. If you ask Siri, "when is Mom's flight landing?" it can answer that too by tracking the flight real-time.

More control over photos

Apple Intelligence helps you find photos easily by asking for "Maya skateboarding in a tie-dye shirt". You  can also find specific moments from a video clip. And now Apple has its own Clean Up tool that can identify and remove distracting objects from an image.

Memories can help you create a story by typing a description. Apple Intelligence will choose the best photos, come up with a storyline and make a movie out of them.
