A San Francisco-based techie of Indian origin has unveiled Iris, a wearable device, that can capture "infinite memory of your life".
Advait Paliwal, the founder of th, says the design of the AI wearable device is inspired by the evil eye symbol.
"I built Iris, a wearable that gives you infinite memory of your life," said Paliwal in his X post.
He said the wearable device can caption the images and organise them into a timeline. Another benefit of using Iris is that it can remind you about forgotten details with the help of AI.
Iris, which also has a focus mode, will know when you become distracted and alerts you to get back on track.
Developed at the Augmentation Lab in Cambridge, Iris got positive reviews at the MIT Media Lab. Though Paliwal highlighted how it would help caretakers monitor elderly patients, some social media users have flagged privacy concerns.
Earlier this year, Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, former Apple executives, established Humane Inc which came up with a standalone screenless wearble device called Ai Pin. The $699 device is fitted with an ultra-wide RGB camera that can capture images and uses AI features to analyse images including how much calories is available in your food.
