Rising Rajasthan summit: CM Sharma promises to disclose progress made on MoUs

With an aim to bring transparency in the government functioning, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said he will publicly disclose progress made on investment MoUs signed during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024. 

Sharma said he will do so on December 11, next year. A year later, in 2026, the second edition of the Rising Rajasthan will held. 

The investment summit and the Rajasthan Global Business Expo were inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Record investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore were signed at the summit.

Earlier speaking during the summit, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the ‘BIMARU’ tag of Rajasthan has transformed into ‘Rising Rajasthan’.

Pradhan said that the Education Ministry will help Rajasthan set up an advanced technological lab at prominent educational institutions such as IIT Jodhpur.

The ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024 came to a close with the successful completion of its valedictory session and the MSME conclave.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sharma said that the government will publicly disclose the progress made on the signed investment proposals during the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit on December 11, 2025. He further said that two years from now, the government will host RRGIS 2026 on December 9, 10, and 11 and give a detailed reply on the progress works undertaken by the government in 2 years. 

The MSME conclave, a part of the Summit, was also attended by eminent business leaders spearheading successful enterprises in Rajasthan, representatives of Laghu Udyog Bharati, bureaucrats, policymakers and other stakeholders from the sector. 

Speaking at the valedictory function, the chief minister said, “The recently launched RIPS 2024 provides interest subsidy on loans taken for buying machines and equipment to the MSMEs along with employment generation incentive, electricity duty exemption among others. Additionally, under the MSME Policy 2024, the MSMEs in the manufacturing and services sector are eligible for additional interest subsidy over and above the subsidy under RIPS 2024.” 

Praising Chief Minister Sharma, Pradhan said, “The unprecedented amount of investment proposals secured under the investment summit reflects the bright fortune of Rajasthan under the leadership of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and is a testament to his dynamic leadership.”

Speaking on the occasion Diya Kumari, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for terming the state ‘reliable’ and ‘receptive’, open to adapting new changes and reliable to lead the growth engine towards the goal of ‘Viksit Rajasthan.’” 

In his opening remarks at the MSME Conclave, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Rajasthan industries minister, said, “MSMEs have not only played an instrumental role in the making of Rajasthan but the making of the entire country, with the sector contributing 25% to the state GDP. The prominent MSMEs businesses in Rajasthan in areas like textile, handicraft, tourism, and ceramics have not only generated a large number of jobs but also upskilled the workforce at a large scale.”
