More than half of India’s iPhone users experienced connectivity issues after the software update, according to a new report by LocalCircles. Around 40 per cent of Android users also reported other issues after the latest software update.

According to the survey, “Six in 10 iPhone users surveyed who have upgraded to iOS 18 or higher are having difficulties.” The report said that at least 28 per cent of the surveyed persons said that both voice and OTT calls refuse to connect.

LocalCircles stated that the survey received over 47,000 responses across 322 districts in the country and was conducted from November 12 through December 26.

90 per cent of the iPhone users surveyed upgraded to iOS 18. The results pointed out that the users who had difficulties attributed it to the software and not their mobile network or WiFi.

This is in line with major updates from Apple since the release of the iOS 18. October saw the iOS 18.0.1 update to fix screen and camera freezing issues in select models. The latest update 18.2.1, according to the company, involves important bug fixes.

Four in 10 Android users also said they faced issues after upgrading to Android 15. However, most of them were related to hanging apps. “No one reported having call connection or drop issues on the mobile service or OTT front with Android,” the report said.

Apple, though specifically not responding to the issue, has time and again asked users to regularly check for updates and install the latest version of the OS to eliminate any issues.
