TVS Motor Co, India’s third largest motorcycle firm by topline, announced its entry to Morocco. The maker of two- and three-wheelers would collaborate with Hindi Motors, its distribution partner in the African nation.

TVS Motor led the announcement, filed to exchanges on Friday, stating that Morocco would see the launch of TVS Ntorq 125, TVS Raider 125, TVS Apache 160,  and TVS Apache 200.

The company said it would “leverage the extensive service and distribution network of MotorSports Maroc, which uses the retail banner of Hindi Motors for its operations in Morocco.”

TVS Group, traces its origins to Madurai in 1911, where the founder, T. V. Sundram Iyengar, launched a bus service in the city. He was also instrumental in laying the foundation of the road transport industry in the erstwhile Madras Presidency.

The two-wheeler division came to life after the collaboration with UK firm Clayton Dewandre Holdings, leading to Sundaram Clayton in 1962—a company that manufactured auto parts. By the 1980s, the TVS 50 was launched from its Hosur factory, making it to history books as the nation’s first two-seater moped.

Later, Suzuki entered a JV with Sundaram Clayton, and rolled out commercial motorcycles in 1989 under TVS-Suzuki, leading to sought-after offerings such as the Samurai and Shogun. The JV was dissolved in 2001, and TVS Motor Co came into being.

Highlighting the company’s 58 million user base, TVS Motor’s international business VP Rahul Nayak talked about the Morocco entry, stating that mobility was an “important lever for economic and societal progress.”

“Our partner—Motorsports Maroc—brings in decades of expertise and experience in sales, service and customer care,” added Nayak.

Hindi Motors MD Omar Messaoudi stated that the firm looked forward to bringing “some of the world’s best two-wheelers” to Morocco.

“The entry of TVS Motor Company into the Moroccan market represents a new chapter in the field of mobility. The effective mobility solutions provided by TVS are now part of the growth and progress of Morocco,” Messaoudi said.

Shares of TVS Motor inched more than 1 per cent in morning trade following the announcement. However, in 2025 so far, the stock dipped at least 4.4 per cent.
