Phase II of the Tarang Shakti air exercise is being held at the at Jodhpur Air Force Station in Rajasthan.




It is the largest multinational air exercise India has organised.




The exercise is aimed at fostering counter air, reconnaissance, air defense, airlift, and close air support with participating friendly nations.

"Tarang Shakti is an opportunity to combine cultures and perspectives while building security and interoperability, with our participating and observing partners," says Air Marshal AP Singh, Indian Air Force Air Staff vice chief.


A total of 10 countries are participating in the exercise which will conclude on September 14.




Besides, there are 18 observer countries.




The participating countries are Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, United Arab Emirates, the UK, and the US.
