I might be 85, but I will go to border with a gun to oppose China, says Ladakh LG

Brigadier Bal Dutt Mishra (Retd) claims that reports of the Chinese Army occupying the land near the line of actual control are rumours

Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Brigadier Bal Dutt Mishra (Retd) claimed that India has not lost any territory to China after Narendra Modi-led BJP came to power at the Centre and added that China is hesitant to encroach on Indian territory as it knows that Indians will defend the land to the last man.

Speaking at the Him Tech Symposium 2024, which offers a platform for the Indian defence industry to showcase their products, he claimed that the reports of the Chinese Army occupying the land near the line of actual control are rumours, and said, "I have been on the ground – to Galwan and other places. Whatever territory was lost in 1962 or around that period is with the adversary.”

He said all the claims of losing land to China are “false.”

“We are paying full attention and all the rumours which are there now that so much of the territory has gone there. Whatsoever territory was lost in 1962 or around that period, that territory is British adversary.”

Noting that India is maintaining its borders with "strong determination", he said China knows that Indians will defend the land to the last man and last bullet.

"I am telling you today, I might be over 85 years in age…but I will go to the front with a gun to oppose the adversary," he said.

His claims echo the long-held stance of the Union government under PM Mod that China neither intruded into the Indian border nor was any post taken over by them.
