French aviation major Dassault Aviation is setting up a company dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and overall (MRO) of its military activities in India.
The company, Dassault Aviation MRO India (DAMROI), incorporated in India and based in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), is a subsidiary of Dassault Aviation.
Dassault Aviation said it is committed to meeting the needs of the Indian Air Force by offering tailor-made products and services to support its Mirage 2000 fleet. The company further said it takes special care to ensure fighter aircraft supplied by Dassault Aviation in India guarantee the best possible responsiveness and efficiency.
"Created under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' policy to contribute to India’s self-reliance and promote indigenous value-added services, DAMROI will benefit from Dassault Aviation’s technological expertise and offer new opportunities for cooperation and collaboration with the aim of becoming a key player in participating to a full-fledged aero defence ecosystem in India," the company said in a release.
IAF operates nearly 50 Mirage-2000 aircraft and 36 Rafale fighter aircraft.

"The French firm recently informed the defence ministry and Indian Air Force about setting up a new Indian company Dassault Aviation MRO India to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul support for the French-origin fighter aircraft in India," news agency quoted a defence official as saying.
Posina Venkata Rao, who has been associated with the company for several years, CEO of the newly created entity.
