A top French army official hinted his country is interested in India's coveted Pinaka rocket system.

French Army Brigadier General Stephane Richou told ANI that they are in need of a multi-barrel rocket launcher (MBRL) like the Pinaka system and are evaluating it.

The official said the French army is comparing Pinaka with similar systems offered by other countries.

The brigadier general, who was on a visit to India as part of bilateral meetings regarding the defence sector, said the ties between New Delhi and Paris is more than just a business partnership and it is a common future together.

This comes after Pinaka rocket system was discussed during CDS General Anil Chauhan's visit to France.
