The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force showcased a mysterious armed reconnaissance drone, touted to be more powerful than the GJ-1 and GJ-2 armed reconnaissance drones of the Air Force, at the high-profile international airshow (China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition) at Zhuhai city in China. The Chinese military displayed an array of its new fighters and drones at the airshow.
The design of this mysterious unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is similar to GJ-1, and GJ-2.

According to a Global Times report, the drone, being billed as a new-type reconnaissance and strike UAV, can conduct tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and attack missions.
The drone, the designation of which hasn't yet been revealed, is equipped with synthetic aperture radar, communication, and reconnaissance devices. Detailed technical specifications and capabilities of this drone are not yet known
According to the Air Force, the new drone can attack fixed, moving, or time-sensitive targets both on the ground and the water.

Chinese military expert Song Zhongping was quoted as saying that the new drone could be capable of striking more types of targets.
China has been constantly upgrading and optimising its drone arsenal. Song said China’s drone industry is developing fast and becoming more diversified as the aviation and aerospace sectors and even universities are developing drones.
