China and Pakistan are set to conduct a joint military exercise from late November to mid-December.
According to the Chinese defense ministry, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Western Theater Command will dispatch its troops to Pakistan for the Warrior-VIII joint anti-terrorism exercise. This is the eighth edition of the exercise.
The exercise, with the theme 'a joint anti-terrorism elimination and strike operation' is in accordance with an annual schedule and consensus reached by the militaries of China and Pakistan. The goal of the exercise is to consolidate and deepen practical exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries and strengthen their joint anti-terrorism capabilities.

During the war game, the militaries of the two countries will carry out joint mixed training across multiple levels and specialties.
Joint planning and live-force exercises based on actual combat procedures will be conducted during the event.
Geopolitical shifts in South Asia and a decline in India China relations have brought Chinese and Pakistani militaries increasingly closer, with the the two sides engaging in training exchanges and officer exchanges.
