The defence sector of Russia is capable of equipping the country’s strategic missile forces with advanced weapons and systems up to 95 per cent, claimed first deputy chairman of the military industrial commission Vasily Tonkoshkurov.
According to news agency TASS, Tonkoshkurov said a large-scale investment programme for expanding production capacities at defense sector organisations is being implemented in the country.
He said this will help considerably increase the production of weapons and systems in high demand.

"The current production pace will make it possible to equip Russia's nuclear strategic nuclear forces with advanced weapons and systems by over 95 per cent and by more than 82 per cent as far as Russia’s aerospace forces are concerned," he said.
Tonkoshkurov made these remarks during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He noted that a large investment programme is being implemented to beef up defence industry production capacity and said this would significantly increase the production of particularly popular types of weapons and equipment.
