How Indian Army scripted history setting three Guinness World Records

The Army Service Corps Motorcycle Display Team of the Indian Army set new Guinness World Records in three different categories as part of events held to mark the 264th Army Service Corps Day

The Tornadoes or the Army Service Corps (ASC) Motorcycle Display Team of the Indian Army scripted history recently setting new Guinness World Records in Longest No Hand Free Motorcycle Wheelies, Longest Backward Ride on Motorcycle and Longest No Hands Motorcycle Wheelies.

According to a Times of India report, at an event held to commemorate the 264th Army Service Corps Day, Subedar Pradeep S.S. covered a distance of 361.6 km riding backward on his bullet. He broke the previous record held by Magus Carlsson of Sweden.

Havildar Manish travelled 2.3km maintaining a seated position, setting a new record for the longest basic hands-free wheelie while Sepoy Sumit Tomar travelled 1,715.4 metres on on the footrest to create a world record for the longest no-hands wheelie. Both these were preformed at at the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway.

The Parade Ground of the ASC Centre was the venue for the longest backward ride. The rides were performed as per the guidelines set by the Guinness World Records.

According to media reports, these record breakers were practicing for six months.
