INS Tushil, the newly-commissioned multi-role stealth guided missile frigate of the Indian Navy, arrived at Casablanca of Morocco, a maritime nation that holds a unique geographical position with coastlines along both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean.

According to defence ministry, the visit of INS Tushil to Morocco is part of the efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations and naval cooperation between the two countries.

In the past 12 months, three Indian Navy ships—Tabar, Tarkash and Sumedha—visited Casablanca, highlighting the mutual trust and interoperability between navies of India and Morocco. The visit by INS Tushil seeks to further explore avenues for collaboration between the two sides.

The warship, commanded by Captain Peter Varghese, and supported by a team of 250 personnel, will participate in collaborative exercises with friendly foreign navies, further promoting India’s maritime diplomacy with nations in the region as its journey towards its home port in Karwar.
