Indian Air Force set to hold industry outreach programme to push for self-reliance in defence

The IAF's Industry Outreach Event 2025, to be held in two phases, aims to boost self-reliance in defence by connecting innovators, startups, and partners to explore opportunities

Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to organise an industry outreach event to provide an impetus to the government's efforts and vision in achieving self-reliance in defence sector and offer a platform for defence industry partners, innovators and start-ups to connect with IAF.

According to defence ministry, Industry Outreach Event 25 (IOE25) aims to strengthen industry engagement by identifying opportunities in the defence landscape and utilise cutting-edge technology for supporting India's strategic goal of becoming self-reliant in defence sector.

The event is planned in two phases, with the first phase to be held online on January 13. The second phase will be held at Air Force Station Guwahati on January 15.

The major sessions during the online phase of the event will include 'A Brief on Atmanirbharta Initiatives by IAF' by Directorate of Aerospace Design, IAF; 'A Brief on iDEX Schemes, Policies and Processes' by Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO); and 'Presentation on Quality Assurance and Certification Processes' by Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA).

There will also be a presentation on airworthiness certification process by Centre for Military Airworthiness & Certification (CEMILAC) and an introduction to certification requirements and testing processes for airborne and aviation related systems by Aircraft Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) of the lAF during the online phase.

During the second phase of the event, direct engagement with the operators will allow industry representatives to understand operational requirements in a better manner and identify areas where they can contribute with innovative solutions, the ministry said.
