Almost four years after actor Preity Zinta filed a case of molestation against industrialist Ness Wadia, the Mumbai city police filed a chargesheet in the Esplanade Court. The Indian Express reported that the chargesheet was filed under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. Citing sources, MidDay reported that the document was over 500 pages.
The incident in question had happened in 2014, during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match; she claimed that Wadia was rebuking team staff over ticket distribution, when she intervened. Zinta was allegedly manhandled by Wadia, and the actor had reportedly claimed 'bruise marks' on her arm.
