Actor and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha has been roped in to play the lead role in a Narendra Modi biopic, reports emerged on Thursday.
During a recent function in London, he was conferred lifetime achievement award at a ceremony hosted by Britain's Asian Voice weekly newspaper. In the Q&A session that followed, he said, in reply to question, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the role of a lifetime for him. "PM Modi is indeed our most dynamic action hero. And who wouldn't want to play him? I'm looking forward to doing full justice to it," reported Bombay Times. The same report also claimed that the the movie would be produced by Sheetal Talwar and directed by his wife Bhavna Talwar.
Earlier, filmmaker Mitesh Patel had announced a Rs 40 crore biopic on PM Modi, helmed by BJP MP Paresh Rawal. According to a report in Firstpost, the movie would cover all controversial periods of Modi's life including the 2002 riots and would not be an exercise in public relations. "You have to go beyond that (mimicry). If I have to mimic Modi ji, then there are many people (who can do that). There’s no mimicry here that’s why it is difficult," Rawal told Firstpost.
